| so i'm this close to making a year at my job- one week...and, this close to leaving it. i will definitely stick it out for just one more week, but seriously, i'm getting bored of being bored! i mean, there are a few long term marketing projects that got sent my way since i spoke up, but not enough to keep me busy throughout the whole days. gary & i are looking into moving. first, we were thinking of south- possibly san mateo area, but we realize it's even more expensive to live south than in the city & marin. things we look for in an area to live: nice weather, good location, easy to get to & from the city (also, being not too far), job market for me, & of course, price. SO, gary researched & realize maybe hayward, eastbay, might be the go-to. there are options, but where to start? once we pick a location, gary would just have to transfer job locations, but we would also have to figure out if we're renting or buying & everything else that comes along with it. i would have to find a job & get the massage program together. but do i want to start TWO new things at once? and how is everything going to work out for timing? ...and then it comes back to, i honestly don't know how much longer i can take staying at this job...but i know everything else is going to take time. so, what to do...what to do??? | | |
| so it's been over a year since i last wrote. i think i might just come back to this thing. i make a year at my current job in a couple weeks...october 8th to be exact. i'm working at a video production company in mill valley as a marketing assistant & doing customer service. i've had good experiences here & it was a good "first" job (since i don't really count my real 1st one) to start off my career, but honestly, right now i'm just tryna stick it out til i make at least a year. i mean, it must say something if i'm "renovating" my old xanga page while on the clock, right? so i'm trying to get into this one year massage therapy program at the national holistic institute. just trying to figure out the financials before fully commiting myself. if all goes well, i could possibly start as early as november 12th! don't know how i'm going to handle working fulltime & going to school fulltime, but this is something i've been wanting to do for a really long time so hopefully everything works out for the best. my schedule would be something like this: mon-fri work 8am-430pm; mon & wed class 6-10pm; sat class 845am-545pm= 56 hour week! my long-term goal is to start my own massage therapy business out of my own future home. i'd have one room dedicated to massage. i figure it would be cheaper doing it this way than renting or buying out another location. plus, i don't want to be doing this fulltime, just as a side thing during nights and/or weekends. i'd still have a regular "nine to fiver." | | |
| wow it's been 2 years since i last wrote on this thing and a lot has changed. i sit here having been graduated from college at the university of san francisco. i also started my full-time career in project development at a solar energy company up north in san rafael, california. not quite my background, but it's a good starting job and i do get to work with the marketing team on occasion so it's not too bad. what do i do you may ask? i work in the commercial side of the team so when new projects/leads come in, i put together the paperwork for client's, fill out applications, and take care of the rebate incentive program that we offer. maybe next time i write i'll be married with kids or some crazy thing like that- hahahah...yeah right! | | |
| *first my printer breaks...something is wrong with the ink cartridges, i change the color one but it still doesnt work...maybe something was wrong with the black one, idk.
*then my camera breaks too...it keeps saying 'turn camera off and on again'...i keep doing that over and over but still no work. and now, no picture even shows up.
....i hate technology sometimes...
i guess i really jinxed myself by writing this entry earlier today because just right now my watch just broke ...what next? | | |

so today is my last day on the lovely island. my summer was fortunately useful in terms that i found a job, made some money, and just didnt sit on my ass and do shet all day like i did last summer. i actually did learn a lot from shore bird considering how much complaining i did. by working so much though, i didnt really go out and party that much like how i got to before. i did have the opportunity to go on three trips, however. i went to kauai to visit the fam and see some friends. went to maui for a real vacation, getting a taste of what the real mokes and locals do everyday. also hele'ed to japan for my first ever out-of-the-U.S. experience...was pretty good! all in all, my summer has been an enjoyable one...i made a lot of new friends and got to spend time with the the true, "old" ones. im looking forward going back to san francisco but am definitely gonna miss everyone here. but of course, the memories will be with me forever.
